Message from the Chair
Like many of you, the YPO Southern 7 family meeting has become a highlight of our summer. We are so delighted to be able to help make this a memorable experience for your family! We have four children that are very excited to share this awesome week with all of your kids (Sam, 20, Riley, 18, Margaret, 16, and Anne, 10).

You will notice that the tween and teen program is a bit different this year.  We have focused programs tailored to tweens and teens, and we’ve been very intentional to make these programs included in the registration fee!  Our programs are very uniquely California, with a special focus at the Ocean Institute, only a few miles away.  We will have the entire Ocean Institute to ourselves, and can therefore tailor the programs to all age groups.  The kids will have a blast, at the same time learning about sea life, and our incredible ecosystem.

Note the amazing education resources that are not just “appropriate” for Teens, but they are JUST FOR TEENS.  Additionally, the tweens and teens will have the exclusive opportunity to run NFL drills with LA Rams coaches, who will give them valuable life lessons NFL style.

Not only will the kids be learning in a fun and exciting environment during the day, we will also have tween and teen fun zones offered at each family party in the evenings.  On Dine-Around night, there will be a dedicated Coachella themed dance party just for tweens and teens!

We are confident you will find the program to be engaging and refreshingly focused on our biggest group of children.  They will leave with stories and memories that are truly “only in YPO” and “only in California”.

Coachella Party – THE tween and teen Dine-around
"Coachella" is an annual music festival held in the spring time in the "Coachella valley" of Southern California. It is a hallmark staple for every grooming / fashion style, and music genre that exists, while strictly conforming to trends that do not conform. With this as the backdrop, our Tweens and Teens will have an opportunity to have their own party, with a DJ, lip-sync and dancing.  We will go “all out” and let the kids dress-up, get special Coachella-inspired face-painting, glow tattoos, and a photobooth for some truly memorable pics!

Cost:  $125 per person
Time: Thursday, 6:00 pm – 10:00 p.m.
Location: Pacific Ballroom III
What to Bring: Fun attitude

For those who want to go “over the top” for the party, we will also have three special opportunities:

Coachella Party Attire

Since fashion is such a big part of Coachella, we put together this guide to help you decide what to pack for this Glow Cali Coachella Party.

For Girls: Now's your chance to mix and match different patterns! Coachella fashion is all about throwing on abstract styles to get that bohemian look. Long sweaters, floppy hats, cut off jean shorts - awesome hair, nails, and spray tattoos will finish your look.

For Guys: Boldly patterned shirts and shorts are in for men’s Coachella fashion. Guys attending Coachella are big on floral patterns, especially button-down shirts. You’ll also see lots of sleeveless shirts, fedoras, and baseball caps rounding out Coachella outfits for guys at this party.

Whatever shoes you decide to go with, make sure they are comfy enough to dance the night away.

Leadership Fundamentals and Workout with the Pros - Tween/Teen NFL Clinic
Are you curious what it would be like to be at a real NFL practice?  Well…now you get the chance with an “only in YPO” opportunity to run some actual NFL drills with two Los Angeles Rams coaches!  Aaron Kromer, the Rams offensive line coach, and John Fassel, Rams special teams coordinator, will be running actual games and drills with the teens and tweens.  The drills will be fun, team-focused, and oriented on the footwork, agility, and speed necessary in the NFL.  All the drills and games will be encouraging, and all girls and boys are welcome to try their hand at real live NFL drills and competition!  After each session, awards will be given out, and the coaches will talk to the kids about what it’s like in the NFL, how to be successful in life, embracing commitment, and working in teams.  We may even have some additional surprises along the way…
